FAQ 1 : What types of courses do you offer?

FAQ 2 : How much time do I have to complete my course?

Once you have purchased a course, there is absolutely no time limit to start or complete the work but some courses have time limit for access. Our courses are designed to fit around you and your lifestyle, so you can start at a time that suits you and work at your own pace. Even when you have completed a course, you will still have lifetime access to the course materials from your Learning Centre.

FAQ 3 : How do I select a course?

Visit our courses to browse our offerings. In addition to searching by course duration and availability, you can also search and find a course that reflects your interests. Though it is not required, we encourage those who have not studied art before to consider taking an art history course first to get a solid grounding in the discipline before exploring more specific disciplines. Our history courses are the perfect first step before moving on to art market courses.

FAQ 4 : Are there prerequisites or language requirements?

FAQ 5 : Do I need specific equipment to take Online Courses?

You should have an up-to-date web browser such as: Google Chrome Apple Safari, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge . Our Online Courses can be accessed on a mobile or tablet device, although we strongly encourage you to have access to a desktop or laptop computer and reliable internet connection for certain course components. Former students have told us it is easiest to read discussion threads and complete written assignments on a laptop or desktop computer.

FAQ 6 : Can I put my Online Course(s) toward a professional certificate or degree program?

Online Courses are intended to deepen your knowledge of a particular field, but cannot be formally applied as credits to other institutions.

FAQ 7 : Can I take more than one course at a time?

If you are new to online learning, we recommend that you begin with one course. As our courses are offered frequently throughout the year, you can always come back and continue your studies with one or more topics.

FAQ 8 : Can I upgrade after I finish the course?

Upgrade to Unlimited annual plan when trial ends.

FAQ 9 : Are certificates free?

To get a certificate, you will normally need to pay to upgrade your course or become an Unlimited learner.

FAQ 10 : How much does it cost to join a course?

Here, you have access to a wide variety of heavily discounted courses—the same courses you can find on popular, expensive online learning platforms.

FAQ 11 : Do you offer courses on French, horticulture, photography, or something else I can't find?

We have lots of courses on Nixon Courses, but there are only so many things we can cover!

If you're looking for a course on a specific topic, the easiest thing is to search by keyword, which you can do on our search page or by clicking on the search bar at the top of any listings page.

If nothing comes up when you search for a keyword like 'French' or 'horticulture', that means we don't have a course for that topic yet.

FAQ 12 : What does 'as long as the course exists on Nixon Courses' mean?

Nixon offers courses in partnership with a range of eLearning platforms. Our partners create and facilitate courses, and we help with learning design as well as providing the platform for them. If an organisation no longer wishes to be a partner of Nixon Courses, they can contact us for removal their courses from our website, as long as the course has finished.

This is very rare and we work hard to ensure it doesn’t happen. However, if a course has to be removed from Nixon Courses, we will inform all learners who have paid to have continued access to that course.

FAQ 13 : Will an educator reply to my comments and questions?

Most of our courses are facilitated by educators, but some are designed so you can work through them on your own, talking through them with other learners.

Our courses are often taken by many thousands of students, spread across the globe. Because of the large number of learners on these courses and the limited time of the educators, educators can't reply to every comment or speak directly or privately with learners.

Some educators will also be supported by teaching assistants and PhD students who will also interact with learners as part of the discussions, and help guide learners. These will be identified with a "mentor" label next to their name.

We know our learners are great at helping each other out - if you have a question, other students may well be able to answer you.

FAQ 14 : My Certificate hasn't arrived yet. What do I do?

If you’ve been waiting longer than 30 days for your course certificate, you can get in touch to find out about your order.

Contact us at Facebook with your order number. This order number was included on the "Thanks for your order" page and in the confirmation email you received when you placed your order.


Buying Your Course

We aim to provide you with the best value when you choose to study with us.

Your course costs will vary depending on the type of course that you choose to study but all our prices are clearly shown. We are also clear about any additional certification fees that must be paid in order to receive additional certificates from additional governing bodies, so there are no unexpected surprises.
